Sunday, 31 July 2005 Joke of the month 20 Years With My Wife.. A woman awoke during the night to find that her husband was not in bed. She put on her robe and went downstairs. He was sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee in front of him. He appeared to be deep in thought, just staring at the wall. She saw him wipe a tear from his eye and take a sip of his coffee. "What's the matter dear? Why are you down here at this time of night?" she asked. "Do you remember 20 years ago when we were dating and you were only 16?" he asked. "Yes I do." she replied. "Do you remember when your father caught us in the back seat of my car?" "Yes I remember." "Do you remember your father when he shoved that shotgun in my face and said. 'Either you marry my daughter or spend twenty years in jail'?" "Yes I do", she replied. He wiped another tear from his cheek and said, "You know I would have gotten out today." 0 comments ![]() ![]() dreamed of racing on 11:22 am <-------------------------------------------------------> Monday, 25 July 2005 Do You Already Know Right from Wrong? A Dharma teacher caught one of his students stealing red-handed. Upon the insistence of the other students to expel the repeat-offender, the teacher replied as-a-matter-of-factly, "Even if all of you were to leave me, I will not ask him to leave - because you already know right from wrong, but he does not. If I do not teach him, who will?" Hearing that, the thief was at once touched, falling to his knees in repentance... followed by the other students. Did the other students really know right from wrong? Obviously not completely. Reason is Wisdom only when it goes hand in hand with Compassion. How right can we be if we simply abandon those who do not understand they are wrong? What if they make more mistakes which harm themselves and others? What if they influence others to make the same mistakes? The ones we feel compelled to shun are often those who need our help the most urgently. It is the responsibility of those with more Compassion and Wisdom to awaken those lacking these qualities, for it is difficult for them to awaken themselves. The Buddhas taught, "Avoid 'evil', do good, and purify the mind." But "evil" is not any person; it is that which corrupts him at the moment. The real evil to avoid is our inner roots of evil - our greed, hatred and delusion. While the thief was guilty of greed and delusion to have stolen, were the students not guilty of hatred and delusion when they condemned him? 0 comments ![]() ![]() dreamed of racing on 8:42 am <-------------------------------------------------------> Friday, 22 July 2005 many things happened for the past few weeks.. but i dun intend to write all out here.. cos its too personal.. and people will misunderstand it also.. have a very big inter-families quarrel.. ya, not my own family but my uncles and aunties too.. luckily its ok now.. thanks to one of my uncle who become the middleman.. working in IHPC is fine.. learnt quite a number of stuff.. collegues are quite friendly too.. so is the boss.. :) bridging economics exam coming next week.. till now, i only know a girl in the whole class.. she came up to me during break time and we chatted for a few minutes.. after class, she said her bf is coming to fetch her.. then the next lesson, she handed me a small paper with her numbers written on it.. i didn't call or sms her.. and last night she asked for my numbers.. ya, i've been thinking what you're thinking.. she's into me? =p but i really don't have much time for her.. 0 comments ![]() ![]() dreamed of racing on 12:53 pm <-------------------------------------------------------> Tuesday, 5 July 2005 tire.. i never know i would be so tire that i can't even open my eyes during lesson.. esp. when the lecturer is as boring.. i have to bite on haw flakes to keep myself awake.. now i knoe what they mean by its very difficult to work and study part time.. the physical exhaustion of rushing to school straight after work is already buay da han.. not mentioning the mental torture till 10pm.. the home run traffic.. people are rushing home for dinner, while im rushing to school.. no dinner, the jam already make me late for class.. i have to try other routes to get on time.. and get some chewy muesli bar.. it will be better after i gotten my parking disc and park in my office carpark.. then i won't have to run to the distant carpark outside.. macroeconomics sux.. i wonder why UOL make economics a compulsory module for all its courses.. 0 comments ![]() ![]() dreamed of racing on 5:29 pm <-------------------------------------------------------> |

"There are some people who meet that somebody that they can never stop loving, no matter how hard they try. I wouldn't expect you to understand that, or even believe it, but trust me; there are just some loves that don't go away. And maybe that makes them crazy, but we should all be lucky enough to end up with someone who has a little bit of that craziness. Someone who never lets go. Someone who cherishes you forever." - Ally McBeal unique moonlighters |
