A child asks her parents, "Where does water comes from?" Her mother cheekily replies, "Oh! An unseen being created it from nowhere!" Her father seriously replies, "Water comes from the water cycle - it comes from water gathered in the seas, which are fed by rivers on the lands, which are fed by rain from clouds in the skies, which are fed by evaporated water gathered in the seas. So you see - water does not exactly come from any one place or person. It was not 'created' - it comes from the gathering of natural causes and conditions." Who will the child believe? The mother or the father? Are you still a child? Have you grown up? Nature works by itself in natural self-contained cycles - such as the water cycle, such as the four seasons, such as day and night, such as death and rebirth. No need for a creator at all. If one believes there is a creator of nature who was uncreated by anyone, one might as well believe nature itself was already uncreated by anyone 0 comments ![]() ![]() dreamed of racing on 10:28 am <-------------------------------------------------------> All As Constant Change Without Beginning or End When asked about the beginning, The Great Sage said that nothing is known of it. Cyclic existence is without end and beginning. So there is no beginning or end. Where there is no beginning or end, How could there be a middle? It follows that thinking about this in terms of Prior posterior, and simultaneous is not appropriate. If birth came first, And then old age and death, Then birth would be ageless and deathless, And a deathless one would be born. If birth were to come after, And old age and death first, How could there be a causeless aging and death Of one not born? Birth and age and death Cannot occur at one time. Then what is being born would be dying And both would occur without cause. When the series of the prior, simultaneous, And posterior is not possible, Why are you led to posit This birth, aging, and death? Not only is cyclic existence itself without beginning, No existent has a beginning: Neither cause and effect; Nor character and characterized... Nor feeling and the feeler; Whatever there is: All entities Are without beginning. 0 comments ![]() ![]() dreamed of racing on 10:23 am <-------------------------------------------------------> Friday, 23 June 2006 had a chat with old grandma again.. whenever i'm chatting with grandma, i would asked her about the past.. how she and grandpa got married? when she first stepped her foot in singapore? how old is she and where she stayed then etc.. beside satisfying my curiousity, these questions helped her to think and have some brain exercises.. ;) i asked numerous questions and grandma told me that my ancestor was actually from a wealthy family.. Liu Lin is the name of my great grandpa.. grandma told me that he operated a large fleet of taxi.. during the olden days in 1920s, there are no particular taxi brand like comfort, yellow top etc.. any pessenger car can be a taxi.. and i heard great grandpa run a fleet of over 70 taxi.. 70 might be a very small amount now, but in the early ninties, there are hardly any vehicle in singapore.. alrite, i'm getting tired.. but i'm not even half way thru of what i'd chatted with grandma.. to be continue.. 2 comments ![]() ![]() dreamed of racing on 12:08 pm <-------------------------------------------------------> Friday, 16 June 2006

I wouldn't expect you to understand that, or even believe it, but trust me; there are just some loves that don't go away. And maybe that makes them crazy, but we should all be lucky enough to end up with someone who has a little bit of that craziness. Someone who never lets go. Someone who cherishes you forever." - Ally McBeal unique moonlighters |
