3 comments ![]() ![]() dreamed of racing on 4:26 pm <-------------------------------------------------------> Tuesday, 27 January 8 comments ![]() ![]() dreamed of racing on 1:26 pm <-------------------------------------------------------> Sunday, 25 January 2009

She was a very good-looking woman and determined to keep the ranch, but knew very little about ranching, so she decided to place an ad in the newspaper for a ranch hand. Two cowboys applied for the job. One was gay and the other a drunk. She thought long and hard about it, and when no one else applied she decided to hire the GAY guy, figuring it would be safer to have him around the house than the drunk. He proved to be a hard worker who put in long hours every day and knew a lot about ranching. For weeks, the two of them worked, and the ranch was doing very well. Then one day, the rancher's widow said to the hired hand, 'You have done a really good job, and the ranch looks great. You should go into town and kick up your heels.' The hired hand readily agreed and went into town one Saturday night. One o'clock came, however, and he didn't return. Two o'clock and no hired hand. Finally he returned around two-thirty, and upon entering the room, he found the rancher's widow sitting by the fireplace with a glass of wine, waiting for him. She quietly called him over to her. 'Unbutton my blouse and take it off,' she said. Trembling, he did as she directed. 'Now take off my boots.' He did as she asked, ever so slowly. 'Now take off my socks.' He removed each gently and placed them neatly by her boots. 'Now take off my skirt.' He slowly unbuttoned it, constantly watching her eyes in the fire light. 'Now take off my bra.' Again, with trembling hands, he did as he was told and dropped it to the floor. Then she looked at him and said, 'If you ever wear my clothes into town again, you're fired.' 2 comments ![]() ![]() dreamed of racing on 11:51 pm <-------------------------------------------------------> Monday, 19 January 2009

there are news that govt. is clearing kampong buangkok again.. i'm thinking it must be a hoax again.. anyway i went down to check with the fellow kampong people and they also believe that it's only a hoax.. no notification have been informed to them.. even so, the time to process will take awhile too.. nothing much had changed since i last visited it in the early 2000.. dad used to rent a hut there for storage purposes.. it still left with 5 kampong families and a malay mosque.. the only different is more decorations, more flowers etc.. guess the continuous incoming visitors must had spurred the kampong people to beautify their home.. more pictures here.. 5 comments ![]() ![]() dreamed of racing on 10:50 am <-------------------------------------------------------> Friday, 16 January 2009 The more you have, the less you have.. The modern-day paradox of plenty How many times have you heard the phrase "the good old days" when you’re having conversations with family or friends, especially the older ones? They always say how it is not the same these days, and vividly recount the times when life was a lot less complex. These instances pop up often enough for me on Saturdays – when I wake up while it is still dark to drive all the way to the club to play golf with my two uncles, my dad and his affable group of "retiree" friends. Over breakfast, other than intelligently discussing politics, the stock market and the putts they missed, these morning chats often take a nostalgic turn. They go back to a time when music was played on vinyl records, and when communication was personal and conducted face to face. On the one hand, the 21st century exudes technological advancements which we can be mightily proud of. On the other hand, this "new" world suffers the ailments of an affluent society – undue stress, failed marriages, unhealthy diets. George Carlin, an American stand-up comedian, actor and author, refers to this phenomenon as "the paradox of our time in history". He said: "We have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways but narrower viewpoints... We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge but less judgment." When I first read this, I thought to myself how profound he was. Juxtaposing the present with the past is neither new nor rocket science, but Carlin has a knack of presenting issues in such a manner that he induced in me what amounted to a wake-up call. What really dug deep into me were these words: "We’ve learnt how to make a living, but not a life. We’ve added years to life, not life to years." For me, "adding life to years" starts with regularly engaging the people whom I love so dearly. There is nothing more precious than spending time with loved ones, telling them how much you care for them – and making the effort to share with each a word of encouragement or a warm embrace. Death has no respect for age, state of mind or health. Do not procrastinate – share your thoughts and feelings with those closest to you. If you think there is no rush, let me encourage you to think again. Today is as good a time to show your innermost sentiments.
