had a "morningmare" this morning.. was brushing my teeth and mom said:
"i have a customer's daughter who is single, are you interested to know her?"
well.. in my 29 years, this is the first time she asking me this.. i thought she'll
never ask.. especially since i have an elder brother who's also single..

anyway, before i can tried my best to mumble a "No thanks", she continued:
"this girl is very obedient and innocent, is the only daughter of the family,
and her parent had already bought her a house.. bla.." the usual matchmaking
lines you seen on the tv show.. wa lau eh.. i never dream this will happen la..

i just turned 29, still in the 20s ok! haha.. its not that i'd been single for years..
somemore, i'm a guy not gal.. i really don't understand why she suddenly get
so gan cheong.. i guess its not my age that matter, its them.. i think my parent
do wish to see us getting married and can't wait to see their grandchildren..
i guess every parent will get excited over this as they aged..

my late grandma always pestered me to get married with my ex gf.. i still feel
sorry to her that i can't fulfilled her wishes.. -_- sigh.. sometimes things are
not within my control.. i start to realise that actually my parent are as eager
as grandma..

in this world, nothing is permanent.. who can say he can live to tommorrow..
somehow the thought of "i musn't let history repeat itself" came into me..
though i believe my parent are strong and healthy now.. but nothing is
impossible.. life is fragile.. and thinking back, mom is reaching 60.. grandma
had her first grandchild at early 40.. i can see why she hope for a grandchild
now.. ha..

regarding courting girl.. i feel abit lost.. i suddenly don't know how to start..
since my breakup, i do make a few female friends over the internet, but juz
purely net friends.. its not that i don't know what to do.. but rather the feeling..
the years of relationship with my 2 ex gfs had somehow kick me into hibernating
mode..

i had not court a girl for so long.. anyway, i'd only court a girl once in my life..
and thats in my teens.. unbelievable right.. now i guess you wanna ask didn't i
court my 2 ex gfs.. well.. by right i didn't.. by left i did.. get it? go figure.. if you
don't get it don't ask me.. lolz.. and don't ask me who the girl i court too.. =p

Enjoy happiness for a lifetime - help someone

Happiness is a prime-time pursuit for many of us and we strive to unearth this
feel-good “endorphin” in a myriad of ways.

Some of us get this natural high by building up a loving and cohesive family.
Others do it by putting their hearts and souls into establishing ultra-successful
careers. Yet there are those who experience extreme joy when they excel in a
sport or an area of interest which they are passionate about. Then, there is a
group of people out there who see beyond themselves and is happiest when
serving the less fortunate and giving back to the community.

Different strokes for different folks, you might say? Consider the Chinese saying,
"If you want happiness for an hour – take a nap. If you want happiness for a day
– go fishing. If you want happiness for a year – inherit a fortune. If you want
happiness for a lifetime – help someone else."

Well-known deaf-blind American author Helen Keller wrote: "Happiness cannot
come from without. It must come from within. It is not what we see and touch
or that which others do for us which makes us happy; it is that which we think
and feel and do, first for the other fellow, and then for ourselves."

Happiness is a state of mind that resides deep within us. When we first meet
someone, we unconsciously form an impression of them, albeit one very much on
the surface level. In many cases, however, what you see may not be the reality.

A story is told about a man who saw a psychologist and said to him: "Doctor, I
always feel depressed. No matter what I do, I still feel depressed and just don't
know what to do." The psychologist pointed outside and said: "There is a clown
in particular who is extremely funny. He will make you rock with laughter over
and over again. Go and watch that clown and I guarantee you will not have any
reason to be depressed again!" The man turned to the psychologist with sad
eyes and said: "Doctor, I am that clown!"

I am at times guilty of worrying too much about too many things that are still
very distant. Time and again, I have to be reminded to live for the moment.
I realise that when I do this, the things which I have been so paranoid about
either do not unfold or get resolved in time. A poem I stumbled upon recently
puts it succinctly:

"Today is the tomorrow I worried about yesterday.
And today was such a lovely day.
That I wondered why I worried about today yesterday.
So today I am not going to worry about tomorrow.
There may not be a tomorrow anyway.
So today I am going to live as if there is no tomorrow.
And I am going to forget about yesterday."

Take heart, my friends – happiness does not necessarily have to come from
striving for something we don’t have. It can come from recognising and
appreciating what we do.

a very meaningful article on happiness.. however, what caught my attention is
the part on impression.. most of us heard of the verse "Don't judge a book by its
cover.." yet we're judging everyone we meet by mere appearance or simply first
impression..

its not easy to even know a friend not mentioning a total stranger.. a person may
not be who he or she is on that day.. human has emotions and emotions hide our
true self.. and then, there are others who don't want people to know them..

a person need to be open in order to let others know him.. for example, there're
times when i don't like a person, i tend to hide my true self.. often in a negative
way that lead him not to like me also.. haha.. some wear on a mask when they
feel insecure.. we have put on so many masks that no one really understand us..

a person need to put in effort in order to know someone.. the true self of a person
is often not easily seem.. actually most of us do not know our friends well, except
those who are really observance and take the effort to know each other..

in such a fast-paced society with most people putting on masks and looking at
each other only on the surface.. how many of us really look within..

其實我們誰都不懂誰..

To study the Way is to study the self.

Those who take refuge in Buddha should practice compassion, the wisdom realizing
emptiness, and the altruistic intention to become enlightened. I practice these as
much as I can and I have found over the course of my life that they are indeed very
beneficial, making me happier and happier. Even if there were no future life,
I would have no regrets; that these practices help in this life is sufficient.
If there is a future life after this one, I am certain that the effort I have put into
practicing altruism and the view of emptiness will have beneficial effects.

Though I have not yet achieved control over how I will be reborn, if I continue these
practices I will likely die with confidence that I can direct my own future rebirth...
Altruism puts your mind at ease. You will live longer, your body will be healthy,
sickness and disease will diminish, and you will have many friends without having to
resort to trickery or force.

everyone in this world want to be happy.. yet they are selfish.. its like you want to
go to destination A, yet you take path B.. how can you ever reach your destination..
such a simple logic yet people are blinded by greed, stubborness, hatred..

be compassion to others.. then will you find true happiness..

a night at marina barrage.. johnson got his cvr.. haha, a secretive guy
who trying to trick me to play with him.. but his acting skill still got
room for improvement.. haha.. its very unlikely that a red-plated cvr
would suddenly pushed me from nowhere..

we meet kenji there and he looked gloomy.. he juz arrived from a friend's
wake.. one of his close friend committed suiside.. only 27 year old..
i'm also quite shocked about it.. feel pity and sad for his friend..

friday the 13th..

According to folklorists, there is no written evidence for a "Friday the 13th"
superstition before the 19th century. The earliest known documented reference in
English occurs in an 1869 biography of Gioachino Rossini:

Rossini was surrounded to the last by admiring and affectionate friends; and if
it be true that, like so many other Italians, he regarded Friday as an unlucky day,
and thirteen as an unlucky number, it is remarkable that on Friday, the 13th of
November, he died.

However, some folklore is passed on through oral traditions. In addition,
"determining the origins of superstitions is an inexact science, at best. In fact,
it's mostly guesswork." Consequently, several theories have been proposed about
the origin of the Friday the 13th superstition.

One theory states that it is a modern amalgamation of two older superstitions:
that thirteen is an unlucky number and that Friday is an unlucky day.

In numerology, the number twelve is considered the number of completeness,
as reflected in the twelve months of the year, twelve signs of the zodiac, twelve
hours of the clock, twelve tribes of Israel, twelve Apostles of Jesus, twelve gods
of Olympus, etc., whereas the number thirteen was considered irregular,
transgressing this completeness. There is also a superstition, thought by some
to derive from the Last Supper or a Norse myth, that having thirteen people seated
at a table will result in the death of one of the diners.

Friday has been considered an unlucky day at least since the 14th century's The
Canterbury Tales, and many other professions have regarded Friday as an unlucky day
to undertake journeys or begin new projects. Black Friday has been associated with
stock market crashes and other disasters since the 1800s. It has also been suggested
that Friday has been considered an unlucky day because, according to Christian
scripture and tradition, Jesus was crucified on a Friday.

this year have one of the most "friday the 13th".. last month and another in
coming november.. last year only have one in june and i remembered my friends
said about visiting some haunted place.. haha..

friday the 13th is just another day.. people are juz superstitious.. i like friday
anyway, be it fall on the 13th or not.. TGIFT13th! =)

看了一些網友的博客他們說到不想在戀愛的時候改變自己。
有些很堅決，有些覺得無奈，覺得改變是難免的，但覺得失去了
自我。改變真的不是件好事嗎？

戀愛是一個“磨合期”，兩個人在一起，怎麽還能夠像獨自那樣
我行我素。要時時刻刻想著念著是“我們”，而不是“我”。
每個人都有習性，不想改變自己，尤其是牽涉到原則的時候。

人的本性是很難改的，因為愛情的力量，有時候自己變了都不知道。
比如某某女孩說不會和比自己年輕的男孩交往，但結果事與願違，
或以前不能接受的東西，現在都接受了。

會不會變？我覺得一對男女要是真心想在一起一定會有所改變。
會從中學習成長，學習遷就。因為愛是要分享感動，悲喜與共，
全心包容，才會長長久久。

妳會不會變為什麽愛和失落在一線之間

Idiot Go To Heaven
Three men a philosopher, a mathematician and an idiot, were out riding in the car
when it crashed into a tree. Before anyone knows it, the three men found themselves
standing before the pearly gates of Heaven, where St. Peter and the Devil were
standing nearby.

"Gentlemen," the Devil started, "Due to the fact that Heaven is now overcrowded,
therefore St. Peter has agreed to limit the number of people entering Heaven. If anyone of
you can ask me a question which I don't know or cannot answer, then you're worthy
enough to go to Heaven; if not, then you'll come with me to Hell."

The philosopher then stepped up, "OK, give me the most comprehensive report on
Socrates' teachings," With a snap of his finger, a stack of paper appeared next to the Devil.
The philosopher read it and concluded it was correct. "Then, go to Hell!" With another
snap of his finger, the philosopher disappeared.


The mathematician then asked, "Give me the most complicated formula you can ever
think of!" With a snap of his finger, another stack of paper appeared next to the Devil.
The mathematician read it and reluctantly agreed it was correct. "Then, go to Hell!"
With another snap of his finger, the mathematician disappeared, too.

The idiot then stepped forward and said, "Bring me a chair!" The Devil brought forward
a chair. "Drill 7 holes on the seat." The Devil did just that. The idiot then sat on the chair
and let out a very loud fart. Standing up, he asked, "Which hole did my fart come out from?"

The Devil inspected the seat and said, "The third hole from the right."
"Wrong," said the idiot, "it's from my ass hole." And the idiot went to Heaven.

远看大自然，近看自然大
自然果然大，果然大自然

哈哈！很无聊的一段，从电视上学来的。=p



我报有一位读者说看到彩虹而感到很兴奋，还拍了照，放上了 Stomp..
或许有些人会觉得彩虹嘛，有什么稀奇的。但那位读者拍到的是一对彩虹，
对许多人来说就比较稀奇了。

任何东西都是一样的，少见就多怪，常见就不当一回事。新加坡是一个天气
很特别的国家。大太阳的时候可以突然间打雷，太阳就会害怕的躲到云彩后面，
雨叔叔就开始撒泡尿。无耻的太阳公公有时还会跑出来偷看雨叔叔撒尿！
哈哈.. 这时彩虹姑娘就会在一旁害羞的娇笑。新加坡是属于比较多雷电
的国家，连我们的国宝鱼尾狮都被雷劈，脑袋缺了一块。所以奉劝新加坡人
不要做太多亏心事。

这些都是自然界的现象。如果你爱大自然，就会多留意。就算看到两位
彩虹姐姐也嬉戏也不以为意。在新加坡天气这样善变的国家，彩虹其实还算
蛮常见到的。只要下了一场雨后又大太阳的，或是下太阳雨几乎都能见着。
只是人人都冲冲忙忙地过日子，有谁会真正放慢脚步来欣赏这个世界，
哪怕是路边的花朵，树下的野蘑菇，只要你肯停下脚步，你会发现这个
世界是美丽的，心情也会跟着轻松愉快。

上个星期三星期四都有彩虹。从我家的橱窗能眺望千里没有阻碍，所以
下完雨我常常会往外看。一对彩虹也不是第一次见过。甚至三道彩虹我也
看过，不过要很仔细的，因为彩虹是一道比一道还浅的。第三道你不仔细观察
是看不到的。我尝试拍下来，但从照片上只能看到两道。毕竟摄像机的灵敏
度比不上我们的肉眼。

上星期去了一位朋友母亲的丧礼，突然间就聊到流星。他说他生平中只见过
一次流星。其实流星还比彩虹更容易见到。若你有眺望星空的嗜好，就一定会
认同我说的话。很多人都不晓得每一个夜晚都有无数的流星从天空中划过。
我生平中看过的流星已经失算了。只要你有耐心，加上一点lady luck应该
不是问题。所以想看流星的，最好带一位女伴去。若看不到流星就在她
耳边轻唱“哪里有流星告诉我”.. 搞不好能看到火花呢。呵呵.. ;)
