350 parts per million is what many scientists, climate experts,
and progressive national governments are now saying is the safe
upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere.
Accelerating arctic warming and other early climate impacts have
led scientists to conclude that we are already above the safe zone
at our current 390ppm, and that unless we are able to rapidly
return to 350 ppm this century, we risk reaching tipping points and
irreversible impacts such as the melting of the Greenland ice sheet
and major methane releases from increased permafrost melt.

So a new decade has dawned. But among the weighty issues that remain unresolved
as a new chapter of history unfolds is this: Just how should we pronounce "2010"?
There are two warring factions here: Those who say "Two thousand-ten" and those
who say "Twenty-ten".
Grammatically, or in terms of wideness of usage, either seems to fit the bill.
Recently, however, the small United States-based National Association of Good
Grammar (NAGG) issued a press release in which it declared that 2010 should be
officially pronounced "twenty-ten" – and that subsequent years should be
"twenty-eleven", "twenty-twelve" and so on.
Still, for the "2000-10" crowd, Gawker allows that their preferred pronunciation
"sounds slightly more like an era of grandeur". David Crystal, author of the
respected Cambridge Encyclopedia Of The English Language, tried to placate both
camps, saying 2010 will be "two thousand ten" as it is more rhythmic but that
2011 will be "twenty-eleven" for the same reason, reported the Times of London.
Chances are the debate will still be around in 2020.
to me, juz pronounce what you like.. its understood by people.. i would rather
say two zero one zero.. or even simpler, two o one o..
