juz bath after coming back from work.. i have been working part time
for wx for almost half a year.. one of my female friend asked me why
i need to go all out to earn money.. i mentioned in the past before,
girls do not meed to worry much about money.. they just need to worry
not finding a guy or husband with money.. lolz.. ok i'm juz joking..

govt. only allow single who reach 35 to purchase re-sales hdb flat..
and now the re-sales flats are selling like private housing, some cost
over a million dollars.. of cos thanks to govt. for opening the flood
gate to encourage / pull all kinds foreigners to singapore..

it must be the prolong driving that caused my backache.. today i wall-
mount a total of 10 televisions.. it supposed to be a 2 man job.. but wx
have to cut budget to help the company earn more money.. i understand
his situation.. but alone carrying a 55" tv is no easy task.. one have to
use the back muscle and often i would strained my back while mounting
up the tv..

mum  had discharged from ttsh this afternoon.. she has been suffering
from urinary infection sinc last week, but didn't went to see a doctor..
sigh.. she often want to save money.. i had told her umpteen times not
to save on these kind of money.. now she has to pay more for a night
stay in ttsh..

on my way to visit mum last night, my car break down again.. ha..
old car is like that.. though she have problems now and then, but i
have been with her for more then 10 years.. i still love her a lot.. lolz..
dad said that her dynamo most probably is faulty, would need to
bring her down to workshop for a thorough check..

went to kmspks for the annual volunteer dinner last saturday.. its
really nice to see all my fellow buddhists friends again, some of them
performing for the event.. :) after dinner, we help to clear up the
dining area before proceeding to junction 8 for coffee session..

kenji is attached again.. fast! haha.. was supposed to meet him for
dinner and see his new gf at jalan besar scissor curry rice, but it was
closed.. so we went to bugis + for ramen champion.. its the 2nd time
i eat over there.. oh, i only realised that illuma was closed..

since i step into arcade centre.. all the games are so new to me..
haha.. i only good in daytona.. ha.. when i play with my poly friends
in the late 90s. and always came 1st without fail.. :P

妈妈似乎真的比较急了。她现在时常都会问我有没有去结交朋友，
也开始注意我的外表。前两天叫我看什么交友的节目，新加坡有
交友的节目吗？呵呵。昨天又叫我用空去染头发。我已经很久没有
染头发了，现在留着黑溜溜的头发，真的没想到妈妈竟然会主动
叫我去染发！哈！

我的朋友也吹我快快找女朋友。我之前也在fb说了，这个需要缘分，
再说我觉得我人缘真的不是很好。我也不是没有努力，也有尝试去
认识新朋友，可能因为自己条件不好，都没有结果，要不就是遇到
很物质的女人。没办法，听天由命啦！=D

其实我也不是很着急，我希望能快点遇到好的对象，一部分原因
是因为家人。我很早以前就已经决定好了，若没有遇到好的女孩，
我宁可单身，好好修行佛法。

我在手机的交友软件中有认识两个女孩。一个是中国福清人，
现在在日本，已经联系了几个月。最近比较少和她聊天，结果她
前天问我是不是有女朋友了。因为知道相隔两地，始终是有缘无份，
所以就克制自己较少和她联系。她知道了有一点难过，不过还好她
能理解。

另一个是新加坡人。听她说之前的感情都是因为他的前男朋友喜新
厌旧，将她抛弃。我也不知道是什么原因造成她三段感情都如此。
到目前为止，我是觉得她还是挺好的。只是和她联系有一半都是
得不到回复的。我一向来都挺反感爱理不理的人，所已我已经尽了
本份了，或许也是有缘无份吧。

其实我是很看得开的一个人，也很相信缘份。我不喜欢强求。

The will to stay positive in this ugly world

since young, i'd heard people saying that the world outside is an ugly world..
i am a nature lover and through tv, i saw that the world is such a beautiful
place.. especially, when i saw the Kodak commercial with Louis Armstrong
"What a wonderful world".. the beautiful sceneries and the lovely song leave
a deep impression in me..

its when i start working at the age of 14, i was been laughed, make fun by
people.. and then, i realised that we actually have a beautiful world, but sadly,
ugly people turned it ugly.. everyday, i would read some negative news
without fail.. be it on-line or on the paper.. and as we get modernise, more
people are becoming selfish, materialistic and inconsiderate..

for example, in a typical day like today, there's the usual on-going news of
senkaku island or diao yu dao dispute, the ng boon gay corruption case, the
various negative news about higher hdb prices, foreigners issues etc.. one
particular news is how a prc convert his condo into a hotel.. lolz.. another
about a man who house break and then jump down from the 4th storey and
survived.. but covered in blood.. another, howard shaw begin his 12-weeks
jail term for having sex with underage prostistue.. ok last but not the least, an
18 years old girl, prostitute herself to pay her dad's gambling debt, after which
she fall in love with the man who operate the prostitute ring and even born a
baby unwed.. sigh.. i really read a lot of ugly and negatives news everyday..

to make things worse, i see ugly people everyday! haha.. for example today
again, i saw people littering in the office.. why can't they just bend down to
pick up their trash if they missed the bin? and then this female prc "FT" in my
company who cut queue deliberately.. its not the first time i came across her..
before that, many times when she was in front of me, she will open the office
door just wide enough for her even though she knew that i was behind her..
i'd have to snatch and grab onto the door handle to prevent the door from
closing..

of course, these are very little issues, which i don't really bother.. thanks to
buddhism which taught me to look only at the bright side, good side of people..
but to others, it may trigger their nerve.. the challenge nowadays, which i
mentioned in my earlier post is staying happy and positive in this increasing
negative world.. we need strength and perseverance to stay calm within ourselves..
which i sometimes find hard to do even though with my knowledge in dharma..

Are Only 17% of Marriages Happy?



We’ve all heard the oft-repeated statistic that 50 percent of marriages
end in divorce, but what about the couples that stay together? It’s not
looking too good, according to author Dana Adam Shapiro. In an interview
with Buzzfeed.com, he breaks it down: “I think 17% of marriages are happy.
Fifty percent of marriages end, and of marriages that stay together,
I think a third are happy, a third are happy enough, and a third are unhappy.”

For his newly published book, You Can Be Right (Or You Can Be Married),
Shapiro talked to men and women all over the country about the ends of their
marriages—and he learned plenty about love in the process. Shapiro tells
Buzzfeed he’s more optimistic about marriage after having finished the book
than when he began writing it. “I came out with a more realistic expectation
of what marriage should be — not a lowering of expectations, but a more
grounded view of what love is and the work it takes to make something last.”

So what does it take?

Shapiro calls it the golden triangle of relationship advice: Accelerating
the Inevitable (revealing your true self to your partner), Discussing the
Dirty (sexual exploration), and Engaging the Elephants (talking about, not
ignoring, your issues). But reader beware: this isn’t exactly a feel-good
book. In fact, Shapiro even says he’s hearing from people who are breaking
up because of the book. When Buzzfeed asked if that makes him feel weird,
he says no.

“That assumes breaking up is bad, but getting to no is just as good as
getting to yes.” Shapiro hopes the book You Can Be Right offers clarity.
“I was hoping it would spark conversations for married people and give them
the tools to fix a marriage that was worth fixing, and I was hoping it
would give people in really bad marriages the courage to leave.” According
to Shapiro, happily ever after is overrated. “I do think we over-prioritize
eternity when it comes to love. I don’t think a marriage that ends in divorce
is a failure. It could be good, loving, you raise kids together, and maybe
20 years down the line it’s not working, and that’s okay.”
